E-mail Print PDF

Year 10 is a very important year for students as the decisions that are made can affect the rest of their lives. Throughout this year students will be involved in the subject selection process before entering the senior school. This not only involves deciding what subjects they will study at HSC level, but what pathway they will take towards meeting their career goals. Students are introduced to vocational education (competency based subjects, school based traineeships and apprenticeships), TAFE or full time work as an alternative to school, and university requirements. They will need to have a clear understanding of all of these pathways before making final decisions about their own individual pathway into a career. Use the following link for more information on the Year 10 programme.

YEAR 7 CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAME

Gorokan High School is committed to the belief that students need to be exposed to career development ideals from the beginning of their academic journey in High School. They must start on exploration of a wide variety of possibilities before the need to narrow down to a focus on a particular career choice. The GHS Careers Faculty has designed a programme enabling students to ‘look outside the square' and see what can be achieved so that they can aim for what they may previously thought impossible or unreachable. Core teachers and the Careers Advisors will work together to achieve these aims. Use the following link to find more information about the Year 7 Career Development Programme.
