Our aim is to promote literacy, communication skills and personal growth so that our students can become valued members of the community. These skills are developed through interaction with poems, novels, plays, films, fiction and non-fiction texts. Our students participate in reading, writing, speaking, listening and viewing activities.

Students are supported by STLA and individual learning programs while extension is offered to talented students through our Public Speaking, Debating and GATS programs.

A huge congratulations to Gorokan High School's students and staff in achieving excellent results in the 2009 NAPLAN exams.

Our Year 9 and Year 7 students have achieved considerable growth in thier literacy skills. As a direct result of the efforts of our students and staff, we have outperformed comparative schools within the local region and nationally. An excellent result.

All staff within the English Faculty are focused on further improvement on these fantastic results. We are looking to build on the existing skills demonstrated by our students in these exams and look forward to even better results.

Well done Year 7 and Year 9, keep up the outstanding effort.
